Strength and Conditioning Training with Wright Training
Jackson Hole Youth Soccer is excited to announce the start of a great partnership for Jackson Hole Youth Soccer. Crystal Wright and her knowledgable staff at Wright Training are going to provide strength and conditioning training to our U13 and U14 boys and girls teams. In the future, we plan to expand that to provide this training to other age groups. We will provide this training as part of our summer camps and run a pre-season strength and conditioning camp to better prepare our players.
Training will start next week with a weekly schedule of:
Tuesdays - U13 and U14 girls from 5:45-6:15pm right before training for that day at the synthetics.
Wednesdays - U13 and U14 boys from 5:45-6:15p right before training for that day at the synthetics.
A note from Crystal about the training:
"Wright Training is excited to help provide JHYS players an intro to strength and conditioning for soccer. It is very important as these kids are growing that they start getting the basic principles of strength training as early as age 10. Our sports are very hard on the young growing bodies and the kids tend to be inflexible and weak in certain areas that are needed for sport. Our goal for the next month is to show the kids how to use certain muscles and get them stronger in certain areas such as the hips, core, knees and hamstrings. These sessions will serve as a good warm-up to their practice and help them to use the inhibited muscles. In the future this should help them prevent injuries and increase performance. Eventually the goal would be to run a pre-season strength and conditioning camp to get the kids ready for the soccer season ready to perform the best they can and help them to maintain strength and prevent injuries. All of the coaches at Wright Training are very knowledgeable about corrective exercise, mobility and strength training."
