Executive Director
Full-Time | Reports to Board of Directors
Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and organizational leader of Jackson Hole Youth Soccer (JHYS), responsible for advancing the club’s mission, strategic vision, and long-term sustainability. This role provides leadership across all areas of the organization, including operations, finance, staffing, programming support, fundraising, and community relations. The Executive Director works in partnership with the Board of Directors and program leadership to ensure organizational alignment, operational excellence, and a positive experience for players, families, coaches, and the broader community. The Executive Director ensures that JHYS remains a respected, accessible, and forward-thinking youth sports organization.
Organizational Placement
- Reports to: Board of Directors
- Supervises: Director of Player Development & Competitive Programming, Recreational Programming Director, Administrative Staff, and Key Contractors
- Collaborates with: Board of Directors, Coaches, Volunteers, Sponsors, Community Partners, Schools, and Regional Soccer Organizations
Organizational Scope
The Executive Director oversees all organizational operations and strategic initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Recreational Soccer Programming (U5–U14)
- Competitive Soccer Programming (U9–U19)
- Camps, Clinics, and Supplemental Development Programs
- Club Operations, Administration, and Registration Systems
- Fundraising, Sponsorship, and Donor Development
- Community Engagement and Partnership Initiatives
- Facilities Coordination and Event Management
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement the organization’s long-term strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors
- Establish annual organizational goals, priorities, and performance metrics
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure alignment across all programs and staff
- Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and organizational improvement
Financial Management & Sustainability
• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual operating budget
• Oversee all financial operations including revenue, expenses, reporting, and financial controls
• Lead fundraising initiatives, sponsorship development, and donor engagement
• Ensure financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams and responsible fiscal management
Governance, Legal, & Board Relations
• Serve as the primary liaison between staff and the Board of Directors
• Provide regular financial, operational, and strategic reports to the Board
• Ensure organizational compliance with all legal, regulatory, and risk management requirements
• Support board development, planning, and governance best practices
Staff Leadership & Organizational Management
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff and program directors
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable organizational culture
• Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities for staff
• Establish and maintain clear organizational structure, roles, and expectations
Operations & Program Support
• Oversee day-to-day club operations including registration, scheduling, communications, and logistics
• Ensure efficient administrative systems and operational workflows
• Support program leaders to ensure high-quality recreational and competitive programming
• Ensure participant safety, positive experience, and program quality standards
Community Relations & External Engagement
• Serve as the primary public representative and ambassador of JHYS
• Develop and maintain relationships with families, sponsors, schools, and community partners
• Strengthen the club’s visibility, reputation, and community presence
• Lead marketing, outreach, and community engagement initiatives
Fundraising, Sponsorship, & Organizational Growth
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies, sponsorship programs, and donor relations
• Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and grant partners
• Support and oversee fundraising events and initiatives
• Identify opportunities to expand access and participation through scholarships and community partnerships
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of leadership experience in youth sports, nonprofit management, or organizational leadership
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and fundraising
• Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities
• Experience managing staff and working with boards or governing bodies preferred
• Passion for youth development, community engagement, and the sport of soccer
Time Commitment
Full-time (40+ hours/week) with evening and weekend responsibilities as required. Year-round leadership role with seasonal workload fluctuations.
